A Summary, One, Of The Barton/SevenMts./Koch/ALEC/Norquist Connection

  • Reclaiming the 7 Mountains of Culture, Part 1
In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of them a message to give to the other. About a month later the Lord showed Francis Schaeffer the same thing. This multi-part article discusses the theology of reclaiming the culture.

  • It's BEYOND me that ANYONE -- ANYONE -- with a heart and a soul and a mind could possibly admire and put their trust in a man like Allen West. Such an ugly corrupted soul -- you TPers have SUCH rotten lousy judgment. Haven't you learned anything about yourselves after having voted for Bush/Cheney -- twice? You actually believe that Palin and Bachmann are GOOD people? Santorum, Perry, worthy of high office? What is WRONG with you?

  • Transcript of Interview of Loren Cunningham on Original 7 Mountains Vision
It was August, 1975. My family and I were up in a little cabin in Colorado. And the Lord had given me that day a list of things I had never thought about before. He said “This is the way to reach America and nations for God. And {He said}, “You have to see them like classrooms or like places that were already there, and go into them with those who are already working in those areas.” And I call them “mind-molders” or “spheres”.

  • The Dominion Process
Definition: Dominion Eschatology is the examination of future events through the lens of the dominion mandate in Genesis 1:28 and in Matthew 28:19-20. It assumes the influence of the church will increase on earth until Jesus returns. This view stands against some opposing views which see the influence of the church waning in the last days. It does not intend to imply absolute dominion, as in a sinless earth, but a preparatory dominion, as in the earth being prepared for the return of the King. Thesis: There are three main points that this presentation seeks to substantiate.

  • Becoming Influencial
I would have to say the body of Christ in America is not the head, but is still the tail. Part of the reason for this is that we have not understood our biblical mandate to have dominion on the earth as was modeled in Genesis with Adam and Eve

  • The Fertile Pasture
"I've called you to pastor the bank," said the Lord to my friend Chuck. "Pastor the bank? How does one pastor a bank, Lord?" "The things I taught you I want you to teach others," came the reply. There is a people who live isolated in fertile pasture lands. They long for a shepherd who will help them discover their own inheritance. They are the lost majority in the marketplace who are living lives as though they are a child lost and aimless in a deep, dark forest.

  • Understanding Our Authority On Earth
Luke 19:10 says that "Jesus reclaimed all that was lost" in the Garden. That included not only man's sin, but all that was lost including man's right to rule the earth. He affirmed this in Col 1:19-20: "For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross."

"So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord God (Ezek 22:30-31).

  • And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them (Deut 28:13-14).
The articles below are designed to help you understand the theological premise that God desires His people to be the "head, not the tail" as described in Deuteronomy 28:13. What does this mean in a diverse, contemporary society? Christ didn't come to lord over society but to serve through sacrificial giving to man. This is the call to every believer, to lay down their life for others and model the love of Christ in our world by serving and leading in the Spirit of Christ. And to be a catalyst to solve societal issues that plaque mankind.
    It's Not About More Salvations
For the last several decades the Church has operated from a belief that the more Christians we have in culture, the more society would become Christianized. Consequently, evangelism has been the focus of the Church for many decades. However, this premise is flawed.
(Yeah, it's not about, um, Jesus.)
